GIGANTIC GLASSES ARRIVE IN ST MARK’S SQUARE

Gigantic glasses in St Mark’s Square. Not an artistic provocation but a special installation set up by Assicurazioni Generali. As Venezia Today reports, this is a national campaign by Generali Italia that also involves Piazza Farnese in Rome and Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Turin with similar installations. These enormous glasses with coloured lenses are intended to infuse a wave of optimism in the hearts of Venetians and tourists, according to Generali. They will be in St Mark’s Square until 24 March 2014. An advertising campaign that has already intrigued many locals.
