Luigi Brugnaro is the new mayor of Venice city council. The founder of Umana and president of Reyer, the illustrious Venetian basketball club, now faces the responsibility of taking over the fortunes of the Venice city council. The day after Brugnaro’s election as mayor, Alberto Nardi, president of the Associazione Piazza San Marco, made the following statement: ‘My most sincere congratulations to the new mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro. The task you achieved in getting yourself elected certainly has something of the historic and much importance for our city. Today is the day for celebrating, but we know that from tomorrow the new task that awaits you will certainly be more demanding.
