St Mark’s Basin will host the Venice Hospitality Challenge 2017 on Saturday 14 October

The 2017 Venice Hospitality Challenge , which will take place on Saturday 14 October at 1.30 pm in St Mark’s Basin, was presented this morning at the Gritti Palace, Venice. This is a unique event that combines sport, lifestyle and luxury in a unique city like Venice, the only regatta to be contested in the internal waters of a city circuit, which makes it a genuine sailing Gran Prix in the lagoon city. It will be a very exciting moment not only for the tourists but also the Venetians who will come to the Riva degli Schiavoni to watch the colourful show offered by the yachts. The Venetian hotels on the start line are the Danieli, a Luxury Collection Hotel, The Westin Europa & Regina, The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, the Sina Centurion Palace Hotel, the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, the Cà Sagredo Hotel, the Hilton Molino Stucky, the Excelsior Venice Lido Resort and the Palazzina Hotel, along with the Falisia, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa Portopiccolo of Sistiana (TS) and the Cristallo, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa of Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL). Thirteen maxi yachts will be racing, twelve representing the respective hotels, while the thirteenth, the unforgettable Moro di Venezia of America’s Cup fame, will race for the city of Venice. Among the news presented in Venice is the prestigious partnership with the Italian Navy, which will allow guests - exclusively by invitation - to enjoy an unrepeatable experience: a gala dinner after the event on board the its sailing ship the ‘Amerigo Vespucci’.
