THE DOGE’S PALACE HOSTS THE EXHIBITION “AQUA E CIBO A VENEZIA. STORIE DELLA LAGUNA E DELLA CITTA'”

The interesting exhibition entitled “AQUA E CIBO A VENEZIA. Storie della Laguna e della Città” was opened today at the Doge’s Palace in St Mark’s Square. The fascinating rooms of the Doge’s Apartment will host a rich and varied exhibition devoted to Venice and its complex network of sustenance systems that the city developed over the course of the centuries to maintain itself, grow and prosper. It is being held in conjunction with EXPO 2015 and its central theme “Feed the Planet. Energy for Life” and will run from 26 September 2015 to 14 February 2016. The exhibition is produced by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia and the Fondazione di Venezia, and curated by Donatella Calabi; it is being held under the aegis of Unesco’s “Venezia e la sua Laguna” official website and EXPO 2015. The exhibition offers, as reported in the Musei Civici press release, a comprehensive picture of lagoon life through an innovative multimedia and interactive display based on a multi-disciplinary approach, alongside the traditional use of historic maps, paintings and etchings. A unique exhibition of its kind and an absolute must to visit.
