THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DISEMBARKS IN VENICE TO RECOUNT THE WONDERS OF ST MARK’S SQUARE

In the next few days a team from the well-known satellite channel of the natural environment magazine ‘National Geographic’ will arrive in Venice to film a documentary on the beauties of Venice and its lagoon. The cameras will film the wonders of St Mark’s basilica and its Square. The documentary will dwell mainly on the splendours of the St Mark’s area, then move to the lagoon to explain how the Mose system works. The National Geographic intends describing how people live in a city rich in historical-artistic beauty but invaded by tourists and marked by various problems such as exceptionally high tides and the passage of big ships through St Mark’s basin. Regarding this, it is worth noting that Prime Minister Letta and the relative ministers will meet in Rome on 31 October 2013 to make a definitive decision on the question of ‘Big Ships’ in St Mark’s basin.
