Good attendance at the association’s annual meeting

The annual meeting of the members of the Associazione Piazza San Marco was held on Thursday 5 March 2015 at the Hotel Luna Baglioni. Numerous members attended and listened carefully to the report made by the association’s president, Alberto Nardi (in photo). After having welcomed the members and thanked them for their attendance, Nardi recalled the association’s many activities, among which he mentioned the San Marco Guardians project, the Dossier on high tides, which had a big media response, the ‘Ombra de vin’ event, which is traditionally held in the square on 25 April, the constant fight against the proliferation of pigeons and seagulls in St Mark’s Square and, finally, he emphasised the association’s collaboration with local bodies and police in the fight against illegal traders that unfortunately fill the St Mark’s area. President Nardi also informed the meeting that he does not intend presenting himself as a candidate for the presidency, which expires in 2016. The president’s report ended and was approved with warm applause. The association’s vice president, Harm, finally illustrated some possible scenarios for its development. Ideas to expand the association’s base included the possibility of involving multinational trademarks, friends lovers of the city, clients, sponsors of specific projects etc. The subject will be looked at more closely at a board of governors’ meeting. The meeting ended at 7.45 pm. Attached document [pdf - 439.2 KB]
