Saint Mark’s Square hosts the historic meeting between Hitler and Mussolini

On June 13 and 14, 1934, Hitler and Mussolini met at the Villa Pisani in Stra and then in Piazza San Marco in Venice. Five years later, on September 1st 1939, German’s invasion of Poland led to the beginning of the Second World War.
