ALBERTO NARDI IN THE NUOVA VENEZIA: FINE THOSE WHO BUY FROM ILLEGAL HAWKERS

The Associazione Piazza San Marco is once again the centre of attention in the local press. Today the Nuova Venezia looks again at the decline of St Mark’s Square in an article by Roberta De Rossi, highlighting the association’s proposal advanced by its president Alberto Nardi to fine those who buy various objects and materials from the large number of illegal hawkers in St Mark’s Square. This proposal is one of various ideas contained in a specific dossier drawn up by the association on the problems of the illegal hawkers who work the St Mark’s area and already given to the mayor Luigi Brugnaro. It will shortly also be presented to the local and national press. Nardi also mentions having asked for a meeting on the subject with the prefect of police and points out that the ‘San Marco Guardians’ project, now suspended because of a lack of funds, would have been very useful in the daily fight against the decline of St Mark’s Square.
