ANOTHER SUCCESS FOR THE VENICE MARATHON!

A celebration for 6000 people, a wonderful charge of sports people of all ages that filled the long route from the Riviera del Brenta to the St Mark’s area and the Riva degli Schiavoni in Venice with joy and colour. Once again, thanks also to a sunny day, St Mark’s Square seemed even more beautiful, circled by the runners on a very symbolic lap of honour before the finish. So the 29th Venice Marathon was another success and aroused plenty of enthusiasm. It was certainly great to see lots of Venetians in ‘their’ Square cheering on the numerous runners. For once at least the decline of the St Mark’s area was not in discussion but, on the contrary, the beauty of an event that continues to attract thousands of sports people who are very happy to run through the historic heart of the city.
