FAI DAYS (22-23 MARCH 2014), THE OLIVETTI SHOP CAN BE VISITED

The 22nd FAI Spring Days is taking part all over Italy from 22 to 23 March 2014. This popular big festival has involved more than 7,000,000 Italians since its first year and this year will see the special opening of more than 750 places in every region of Italy, with special visits for an open donation. Many places in the Veneto are involved and, in particular, in St Mark’s Square, Venice, it will be possible to visit the Olivetti Shop on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. The very interesting Olivetti Shop, at 101 St Mark’s Square, was designed by Carlo Scarpa in 1957-8 for Adriano Olivetti, who wanted a modern showroom in Venice to display the typewriters and adding machines made by his famous Ivrea company.
