FESTIVAL OF EUROPE 2013: WEB PAGE OF THE VENICE CITY COUNCIL REPORTS ON THE INTERNATIONAL EVENT

As noted in a previous news item on 6 May 2013, the Festival of Europe (5-9 May 2013) obtained great recognition and public participation. This prestigious international event mainly involved St Mark’s Square and its surrounding area, with its historic cafes becoming important venues for debates, appointments and events. The Venice city council has highlighted a web page on its official site for the Festival of Europe 2013, containing various notices, press releases and a video made for the occasion showing the historic cafes in St Mark’s Square and the Square itself presented in all their splendour. It must be noted that 2013 has been officially proclaimed the European Year of the Citizen, with the aim of improving knowledge about the numerous rights deriving from European citizenship, of which we are not always aware.
