HIGH TECH ON ST MARK’S BELL TOWER

The recent extreme weather events that have hit our region and often also Venice, demand ever increasing protection technologies. It is little known news but St Mark’s bell tower is now monitored and protected against lightning by sophisticated technology produced by the Austrian firm Phoenix Contact, which is very well known in its field and has already installed systems of this type in most of Europe. Now St Mark’s bell tower, recently restored and made safe with major works, can sleep soundly even through wild storms with frequent electrical activity.
