NEW EXHIBITION AT THE CORRER MUSEUM

The Correr Museum is setting up nine new rooms for the ‘Wunderkammer’ exhibition in a completely refurbished part of the museum in the Procuratie Nuove. It will be open until 31 October from 10 am to 7 pm and allow visitors to admire a good 300 fairly rare, early works of art, of which 260 are being shown to the public for the first time. Carpaccio, Lorenzo Lotto, Domenico Tintoretto, Leandro Da Bassano and Titian, are just some of the major painters whose works are being shown in this exhibition curated by Andrea Bellieni. The director of the Musei Civici, Gabriella Belli, has said in the pages of the Gazzettino that she is very pleased to have been able to organise this cultural event and exhibit some authentic masterpieces. With this exhibition and the one on Manet, noted in a previous article, the St Mark’s area is enriched with important cultural events to attract more and more ‘quality’ tourism to Venice.
