SAN MARCO GUARDIANS: LAUNCH OF THE 2016 PROJECT AT THE END OF JUNE
The San Marco Guardians will finally once again become operational at the end of June. The interviews to select the fifteen, multi-lingual professionals who must inform the tourists on the proper behaviour to adopt in the St Mark’s area are now being completed by the Associazione Piazza San Marco. The San Marco Guardians, to protect the Square and its immense monumental heritage, will also work with the local police this year. It is also probable, though the idea is still being developed, that the San Marco Guardians will be accompanied by interns from the city’s schools, who will be trained ‘on the street’ on these important matters linked to information and the protection of the city. The signing to launch the 2016 project at the city council has been set for 21 June.
