St Mark’s Square the centre of New Year 2018

The Venice city council has presented its programme for New Year 2018 involving Mestre and Venice. In particular, the new year will be greeted in Venice with a fireworks display that will light up St Mark’s Basin with many different colours. This is an event that is always enjoyed by the numerous tourists and Venetians who flood the Square to see in the new year. Police checks will be increased on this occasion to ensure that everything takes place in complete safety. An important opportunity offered by the Fondazione Musei Civici in the St Mark’s area must also be noted: in Venice the Doge’s Palace and the Correr Museum will be open from 11 am to 7 pm on New Year’s Day and at Christmas.
