The mega-yachts and the frecce tricolori arrive in St Mark’s Basin

The Venice Arsenale is a historic place that could become the venue for important trade fairs related to the sea, according to the city council. The Big Basin is ideal for this kind of event, being a place that truly is rich in fascination and closely linked to the history of the city. In this perspective, the city council proposes a thematic event with the aim of highlighting the Arsenale complex by exhibiting luxury boats, as part of the general plan to relaunch the nautical sector in Venice. An event on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of the renowned Ferretti company will take place on the weekend of 22-24 June 2018, offering the public a chance to see eleven of the most prized mega-yachts in the world. It must be noted there will also be important parallel events taking place in the St Mark’s area. The frecce tricolori will fly over St Mark’s Basin on 22 June at 7.30 pm, while the parade of some boats through the same basin will take place between 7 and 8, with some photos to be taken by drones to immortalise this evocative moment.
