THE OFFICES OF THE STUDY CENTRE LINKED TO THE FAMOUS RUSSIAN HERMITAGE MUSUEM IN ST MARK’S SQUARE

As announced here in a previous news item, the new Hermitage offices will be in St Mark’s Square. Mayor Giorgio Orsoni’s resolution for the agreement with the famous Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg was approved by the Venice city council yesterday. The mayor of Venice will shortly go to Russia to sign the agreement that, according to the press office, will not involve any cost to the council. The resolution provides for the foundation of a study centre in the Procuratie Vecchie in St Mark’s Square. Prestigious offices that are in line with the city council’s aim, and that of the Associazione Piazza San Marco, to bring important, internationally renowned foundations and study and cultural centres back to the St Mark’s area.
