THE RECORD-BREAKING VENICE MARATHON 2012 WILL CROSS SAINT MARK’S SQUARE AGAIN

28 October 2012 will be a sports holiday for Venice and its Province. Around 8000 sportsmen will run from the Riviera del Brenta to the city of Venice for the 42,195 kms of the Venice Marathon 2012. There has been a lot of enthusiasm for the event with many entries from Italian and foreign runners, so much so that the organizers have had to close any new entries before the official expiration date. The Venice Marathon Club is extremely pleased with the results and its president, Piero Rosa Salva, after last year’s successful televised run through Saint Mark’s Square which was also reported in the international press, now considers a new run through the Piazza indispensable for the twenty-seventh edition of the race .
