Wave upon Wave: Moments of Orbital, Angular Light

FRIDAY, June 24, 2011 at 9.00 p.m. in Piazza San Marco – Pier. For the first time in history since Guglielmo Marconi (1895), radio waves using new scientific techniques discovered by Tamburini and his Swedish colleague, Bo Thide, will be generated from the tower of the Compagnia della Vela (island of San Giorgio) towards the loggia of the Palazzo Ducale, where they will take shape and form. These radio signals relate to properties identified by Tamburini and Thide based on the principle of the Orbital Angular Moment of Light where soundwaves are capable of grafting onto one band at a high number of frequencies thus increasing the potential of modern telecommunications and the resolution capacity of microscopes and telescopes.
